As the auspicious month of Shravan or Sawan rises gradually, the hailing sound of the staunch followers of Lord Shiva will grow stronger and stronger in the environment. Millions of people clad in saffron, hailing Bol Bam, are the only sound prevailing in the milieu. This is a description of the fairness of faith and conviction. It attracts more than 7 million visitors every year at one of the 12 jyotirlingas in India. Among those 12 jyotirlingas, Baidyanath Jyotirlinga is the most famous, where millions of pilgrims visit per year.
Located in the Deoghar district of Jharkhand, Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga Temple is the most sacred abode of Lord Shiva. In addition, facing the east, this 72-foot-tall temple stands tall and is made with a single rock.
Historical Overview:
There are several folklores associated with the past of the temple. The most prevalent one is that Ravan, the Demon King, was a staunch follower of Lord Shiva. And he wanted to take Lord Shiva along with him to his country, Lanka. Therefore, he worshipped him as a boon, and Lord Shiva agreed to give him Shivlinga, which he could take with him. On the other hand, the other gods didn’t want this to happen, so they played a trick on Ravana. Falling for their trap, the Ravana somehow lost ownership of Shivlinga near Devghar. And since then, this shivling is considered the most pious all over the country. Gradually, the temple was built over it, and it became famous as one of the Jyotirlingas of India.
How to get Baidyanath Jyotirlinga:
When seven to eight million people are visiting the same place simultaneously, finding an option for conveyance is a slightly tough job. Finding reservations on the train is a next-to-impossible thing during the Savan Mela, and there are no waterways or airways to this place. The only option you have left is to hire a cab. But owing to the high demand, the prices of the local cab service firms are too damn high. Here, it comes to the online cab rental company as a saviour. Lots of online cab service companies provide taxi services and cab booking facilities in and around the city. And if you do a little deep search, you may also find some of the companies that ensure a to-and-from visit to the temple.
